Luggage weight is restricted to 15kgs per fare. This can be divided between more than one bag. All extra luggage is subject to payload limits and incurs a fee of $7 per kg payable before boarding.
Any passenger who has mobility issues must advise at the time of booking to ensure safe boarding and disembarking of the aircraft. Call 0800 786 247 to discuss.
Ardmore: Sunair Aviation have their own office located in the Auckland Aero Club at Ardmore Airport. Check in for all Sunair flights is at this location. The airport is 30 minutes from Auckland city centre and 20 minutes from Auckland International Airport. Please allow extra time when travelling for traffic through Auckland's busy motorways.
Gisborne: Enter into the main terminal, turn right and go to the far end where the Gisborne district map is on the wall. This counter is not usually staffed. Your pilot will meet you there. If you don’t see your pilot upon arrival he may be unloading from the previous flight and won’t be far away. Standard Gisborne Airport parking is available.
Great Barrier Island: The Sunair check in desk is located Claris Airport (the old Fly My Sky counter). Our flights operate on a quick turn around whereby the pilot himself will check you in beforehand. Our counter is not usually staffed. If you don’t see your pilot upon arrival he may be unloading from the previous flight and won’t be far away. Parking is available out front of the terminal.
Napier: Please check in at the Sunair desk near the Air NZ counter, in the main terminal. Your pilot will meet you there. This counter is not usually staffed. If you don’t see your pilot upon arrival he may be unloading from the previous flight and won’t be far away. Standard Napier Airport parking is available.
Tauranga: Sunair have a terminal located to the left of the main Tauranga Airport terminal. This is in a hanger with a big "SUNAIR" across the front. Access to the hanger is through the long term carpark out front (driveway up the middle). Please note: We are unable to provide long term parking outside our hanger. If you are not dropping off a passenger you will need to park in the Airport Long Term Car Park.
Wairoa: Please gather at the eastern end of the Wairoa Aeroclub building and the pilot will collect you, or wait in your car until you see the Sunair aircraft land. The airport is unmanned.
Whangarei: Please check in at the Sunair Terminal located next to the Whangarei Airport Carpark. Free parking is available out the front of our terminal.
Whitianga: Please wait in front of the Mercury Bay Aero Club in front of the fence to the runway. Your pilot will come find you at check in time. If you don’t see your pilot upon arrival he may be unloading from the previous flight and won’t be far away. Parking is available outside the Aero Club, both long and short term.
